Motley Crue Returns to Roots with Sunset Strip Shows and Charity Initiative

Las Vegas rockers to take the stage at iconic Los Angeles clubs

Motley Crue, the pioneering rock band known for their hard-hitting sound and raucous live performances, will return to their roots by performing at three legendary Los Angeles clubs this October. The band’s "Hollywood Takeover" series will kick off on October 7th at the Troubador, followed by shows at the Roxy on October 9th and the Whisky a Go Go on October 11th.

A Blast from the Past

Motley Crue’s early years were marked by their frequent performances at iconic Sunset Strip clubs, including the Whisky a Go Go and the Roxy. In fact, the band made their debut at the Starwood Hotel in April 1981, a performance that was marked by hostility from the crowd. Lead singer Vince Neil recalled the event in his book The Dirt, stating, "People were yelling ‘F— you!’ and flipping us the bird during the kickoff song, ‘Take Me to the Top.’ Then one meathead, in a black AC/DC shirt, hocked a loogey that landed on my white leather pants. Without even thinking, I leapt off the stage mid-phrase and put him in a headlock and started pummeling him."

Charity Initiative and New Music

In addition to their "Hollywood Takeover" series, Motley Crue will use the occasion to raise awareness and funds for homeless youth. The band plans to auction off instruments played at each of the shows, as well as a pair of tickets to the Troubadour concert, with all proceeds going towards Covenant House, a non-profit organization supporting young people experiencing homelessness. The group will also host a charity dinner at the Rainbow Bar and Grill on October 8th and open a pop-up shop featuring exclusive merchandise at the venue on October 6th.

To further support their charitable initiative, Motley Crue will be releasing a new EP, Cancelled, which features a cover of the Beastie Boys’ "Fight for Your Right." The EP is expected to drop soon, although a specific release date has not been announced.

About Covenant House

Covenant House is a national organization that provides shelter and support services to homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth. The organization’s mission is to help these young people overcome the obstacles they face and achieve independence. By partnering with Covenant House, Motley Crue hopes to make a positive impact on the lives of homeless youth and give back to the community that has supported them throughout their career.
