Motley Crue Drummer Tommy Lee Recalls Ozzy Osbourne’s Infamous Ant-Snorting Incident

Tommy Lee, the drummer of the legendary rock band Motley Crue, has once again spoken about the notorious incident where Ozzy Osbourne snorted a line of ants during a 1984 tour. The incident has become a part of rock history, and was even recreated in Motley Crue’s biopic, "The Dirt."

In a recent appearance on "This Past Weekend With Theo Von," Lee reiterated the story, stating, "Full-on true. I know people ask that all the time. They’re, like, ‘Dude, really?’ I’m, like, abso-fucking-lutely. You can’t make that shit up."

Lee recalled that the incident occurred during a hotel pool stop on the tour, where Osbourne, in an effort to outdo the other rockers, snorted a line of ants leading to a popsicle left on the ground. This was met with a response from Motley Crue’s bassist, Nikki Sixx, who pulled out his penis and began to urinate on the ground, only to be beaten to the punch by Osbourne, who licked up his own urine.

The Antics Continued After the Pool

But things didn’t stop there. Lee revealed that the rockers’ antics continued even after they left the pool.

"I’m like, ‘Come on, Ozz. We’re getting kicked out [of the pool]. I’m gonna take you up to your room,’" Lee recalled. "We get in the elevator. We’re going up, and there’s people in the fucking elevator."

Sensing another opportunity for debauchery, Osbourne pulled down his pants and began to defecate, with Lee urging him to stop.

"He pulls his pants down and he just starts fucking [pushing hard]," Lee recalled. "He’s shitting. I’m, like, ‘Ozzy, dude. No! Fuck! Dude, no.’"

Things Didn’t Improve in Ozzy’s Room

Things didn’t improve once Lee finally got Osbourne to his room.

"I’m like, ‘OK, buddy. See you later,’" Lee remembered. "And he goes, ‘Come here.’ I’m like, ‘I’m gonna go.’ He’s like, ‘No, you come here.’ I go in, and now he’s gonna finish. He just starts shitting in the middle of the room. He bends down, picks it up and starts painting the walls with his shit. I’m, like, ‘I’ve gotta go, dude.’ And I fucking bailed."

While Ozzy’s antics may have been shocking, his music has left a lasting impact on the rock world. Here’s a journey through Ozzy’s solo output, including the best song from every album:

  • "Blizzard of Ozz" (1980) – "Crazy Train"

  • "The Ultimate Sin" (1986) – "The Ultimate Sin"
