Rock & Pop History Is Up for Grabs in This Massive Auction
The Main Event: Gregg Allman’s Final Organ
Just weeks after Jerry Garcia’s famous “Tiger” guitar sold for over $11.5 million, another piece of jam-band history is hitting the auction block. The centerpiece of Goldin Auctions’ huge Spring Music Memorabilia Auction is the Hammond B3 organ that Gregg Allman played at the very last Allman Brothers Band concert in 2014.
This isn’t just any organ. It was Allman’s main instrument for that final show at New York’s Beacon Theatre and has photos to prove it was also used at their Mountain Jam performance a few months earlier. The “Gregg Allman Collection” also includes a bronze statue of his brother Duane and a special Bible from his mom.
Memorable Items From Music Icons
King of Pop & Rock Legends
If you’re into Michael Jackson, there’s a rhinestone glove from his Bad tour and a black fedora from his Pepsi commercial. Classic rock fans can find signed vinyl from all four members of Led Zeppelin.
’90s Grunge & Beatles History
The ’90s are represented by raw items from Kurt Cobain and Nirvana. This includes Cobain’s handwritten setlist from a 1991 show, a ticket stub, and an early demo tape with “Nirvana” written by him. You can even bid on DNA-authenticated strands of Cobain’s hair.
For the earliest rock history, there’s a super rare 1961 photo from The Beatles‘ first professional shoot, signed by all four members—including original drummer Pete Best.
Modern Stars & More Legends
The auction isn’t just about the past. There’s an original painting of Taylor Swift by pop artist Peter Max and signed records from Eminem. Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz‘s photo-matched bass guitar is also for sale.
The list goes on with items connected to Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis, Prince, Ozzy, Tom Petty, The Ramones, Phish, Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., Eddie Van Halen, John Lennon & Yoko Ono, Eric Clapton, Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen, Rihanna, Eazy-E, and many more. It’s a who’s who of music history.

Why This Matters
This isn’t just about owning cool stuff. These artifacts are physical pieces of music history—the actual tools and treasures that created the songs we love. From a guitar that defined a generation to a handwritten setlist from a secret show, each item tells a story. This auction makes that history accessible (if you have the funds!), letting fans and collectors own a direct connection to the artists who shaped our culture. Whether you’re into classic rock, hip-hop, pop, or grunge, there’s likely something here that speaks to your soundtrack.
